ALEX HAVEN IS A PUBLISHED SINGER & SONGWRITER

Alex Haven has a licensing deal with three time Grammy Award Winning producer/engineer Rob Chiarelli.

Alex’s professional career as a singer/songwriter began when he formed the group Fat Bag with fellow music students at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.  The group was lead by Alex Haven (lead vocals & tenor sax), and included Adam Deitch (drums), Adam Smirnoff (guitar), Dave Feusi (Tenor Sax), Sam Kinninger (Alto Sax), Atticus Cole (Percussion) and George Thomas (Bass).

Fat Bag quickly established a loyal fan base and within a year they were signed to Interscope Records by Bill Stephney (Public Enemy, the Beastie Boys, Def Jam).  The band recorded their first album and toured extensively throughout New York and New England.   After an appearance on the Chris Rock show, their popularity soared.

By this time, the band had already won the Boston Music Awards 3-years in a row and had an audience that extended beyond the United States and into Canada.  As the group was enjoying success on the national stage, relationships within the group became strained and eventually disbanded.

Immediately following the breakup of Fat Bag, Alex was signed to BMG Records by president/CEO Randy Phillips (Prince, Usher, Rod Stewart, Sublime, Tony Braxton).  Alex was seen as the hip-hop influenced, heir-apparent to Bradley Nowell of Sublime.  His first solo album was produced by two-time Grammy winning engineer Rob Chiarelli (Will Smith, Stevie Wonder, Kirk Franklin) and combined elements of jazz, hip hop, rap, R&B and Pop.   The project included featured performances by Michael Bland (Prince), and DJ Jazzy Jeff and songs co-written by Alex, Chiarelli and former members of Fat Bag (now performing under the name Lettuce).

Solo success came with the release of his first single "I Feel So Good", which appeared in the motion picture "What's The Worst That Could Happen?" featuring Danny Devito.   The single enjoyed critical acclaim and Alex was asked to contribute to the Men In Black II soundtrack as a horn arranger for three Will Smith compositions.  Shortly after the release of "I Feel Good", BMG merged with SONY Entertainment and the company reorganized their entire A&R and promotional team.  The full length album was never released commercially, but has reached cult status through bootlegs available on the Internet.  The original BMG masters continue to be licensed worldwide in numerous television and motion picture soundtracks.

In 2016, Alex signed a licensing deal with three time Grammy Award winning producer Rob Chiarelli’s Usual Suspects production company.  The team has notable hits with superstars P!nk, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, as well as Film TV and advertising placements with T-Mobile, Heineken, Petco, Living Spaces and PayLess to name a few.
